Bio
I am a professional artist and visual arts business coach from Southern California.
Most of my work has elements of nature. I am currently exploring the relationship of women to the natural environment and modern society.
I photograph many of my subjects and use acrylic, watercolor, and gouache to create my works. I also scan my painted motifs into Adobe Illustrator to make repeat patterns for all sorts of products.
I have a B.A. in Fine Arts and a B.A. in Psychology from Claremont McKenna College with a semester in Florence, Italy studying art history.
Other courses I’ve enjoyed are commercial photography, creative color photography, and European decorative arts at UCLA.
Prior to being an artist, I spent the majority of my career in corporate branding enhancing the images of some of the world's biggest brands such as Apple, Cisco and Hewlett Packard as the owner of a marketing agency in the Silicon Valley. And before that, I was a fabric designer.
Mentoring other artists and passing on my years of entrepreneurial experience brings me a lot of joy. I am committed to keeping the arts thriving.
My Favorite Things…
My very favorite art supply is my tiny little brush. It is a size 0. I love details and it does the trick.
I listen to a combination of classic ‘70s rock and soulful pop.
#1 design hack - declutter.
My favorite travel destination is Italy. I studied there in college and the art there surpasses anywhere else in the world.
Go-to morning drink - English Breakfast tea.
Besides my family and Labradoodle, Lily, I can’t live without my watercolors.
I love living in warm Southern California where I draw inspiration from flowers, the ocean, and the rest of the beautiful scenery.
